Where Is Ed Dunn?
October 12, 2008 (New York)

This weekend traveled to New York City to participate in my friend's wedding. While in New York, the weather was beautiful -- crisp fall breeze, leaves on the trees changing colors, and blue skies. I even got to go for a run in Central Park! As in most American weddings, there was a banquet on Friday night and the actually wedding ceremony took place on Saturday. As my friend's parents are from China, they had a Chinese wedding banquet on Friday night with a 10 course meal! I was fortunate enough to be able to act as the MC, helping my friends celebrate their wedding. It was tons of fun, as I got to speak both English and Chinese! All weekend I met my friend's Chinese relatives and their other international friends, and had a chance to tell them about my trips to Guangxi. Everyone was very interested in learning more about the region, and many said they hoped to visit in the future. They also asked many questions about the upcoming US Presidential Election, and how people in China are talking about this historic event. I told them about all the information, English and Chinese language, that is available on this website and the Consulate General Guangzhou website. Everyone around the world is watching this election closely, and we're all find out the results on the evening of November 4th (the morning of November 5th in China).
